The legendary white buffalo. Only 2 or 3 are known to collectors, and the supposition is that they were perhaps a SR tie-in with the 1977 movie, The White Buffalo, starring Charles Bronson. This model's paint job is heavily shaded with grey, very similar to the Breyer Alabaster Indian Pony, which makes me wonder if it dates to the early 1970s instead.

The elusive Woodgrain Elephant. Like its counterpart, the Woodgrain Donkey, it is 1 of only 2 known to collectors.

The hard to find Corky and Bimbo set with the incredibly rare hang tag and box (not shown).
And here is the almost equally rare Pink Elephant. This model is painted pink
The Breyer Blue, Woodgrain, and Pink elephants. The blue and pink elephants shown here are both unpainted plastic, meaning they were molded in blue plastic and pink plastic respectively (unlike the pink elephant above). Both are test runs from the collection of former Breyer employee William Ciofani.

A gold elephant from the early 1960s. According to another collector who owns a similar gold elephant, they are probably test runs of some sort.

In the late 1960s, Breyer experimented with antique gold/bronze paint. They used mostly animal models as their test subjects (pigs, bulls, etc). This bronze elephant and the bronze donkey below are examples that escaped the factory.

A side by side comparison of the gold and bronze elephants.

The antique gold/bronze donkey mentioned above (photo taken with flash. The actual color matches the elephant closely).

This is the very rare Donkey with Baskets model. It is 1 of only 2 examples known to collectors.

A test run chalky brown donkey from the collection of a former Breyer employee.
A Woodgrain Poodle with an old gold foil "Tenite" sticker.
This is the Glossy White Boxer, a hard to find 1960s special run.
This is the Breyer "Rin Tin Tin" model complete with original hang tag and box.
A rare Chalky Lassie complete with box and hang tag.
A 1950s test run black and white Lassie from the collection of a former Breyer employee.
The rare Small Poodle mold in brown. This model is one of 16 pieces raffled off at BF 1997. Four models were made in each of the following colors: brown (as seen here), black, white, and grey.
This highly shaded Charolais Bull may be a test run. He is pictured in Nancy Young's book.

A glossy Chalky Walking Hereford complete with hang tag. This model is from Nancy Young's collection.

A lovely glossy Chalky Brahma Bull.
A regular Glossy Brahma with a mint blue ribbon sticker. He was found in his original box.
A Buffalo with a blue ribbon sticker.
Jasper the Market Hog with the original hang tag. This piece was once owned by the people who bred and raised the real Jasper. It came with a letter from the family.
A chalky Longhorn.
And a regular Longhorn. He's not even remotely rare, but he has eyewhites and very pretty shading, so I thought I'd include him.
